This is the how to guide on creating products with Craft Collective.

This will be how the product will be listed on the website as well as printed on the barcode labels.
Â
Â
If your product has multiple variations, that will be entered later.
Â
Description
The Description section is where you will tell potential customers about your product. Items to include, if applicable to your product:
- Introduction of what your product is
- Size (i.e. 4" x 2.5")
- Ingredients - must be added for cottage foods & bath and body products for allergy reasons
- Cottage Food disclaimer - PROCESSED AND PREPARED BY A HOME-BASED FOOD PRODUCTION OPERATION THAT IS NOT SUBJECT TO SOUTH CAROLINA’S FOOD SAFETY REGULATIONS. This item is not able to be shipped outside the State of South Carolina.
Â
Publish Status
The publish status will change when the Craft Collective Admins are notified of the product creation. This section has no action needed by the vendor. Once submitted, this will change to "Pending Approval" until approved by a Craft Collective admin.
Product Type
The product type is used for multiple reasons.
- Calculate taxes
- Allow for searching and sorting of products in the catalog
Current product types can be found in the catalog drop downs on the website. If the Admin sees a new product type created:
- Determine if it needs to be changed to use a product type already created
- Add a new product type to the catalog drop down feature for the website
Tags
The Tags section is where you can place different identifiers for your products. This will allow for searching as well as collection compilation to include in different marketing. Samples include:
- Valentine's Day
- St. Patrick's Day
- Easter
- Faith Based
- Aynor
- Military
Images
The Images section is where you will upload photos of your products. This is what the website customer will see when shopping online. It is encouraged to provide a few photos of your products from different angles to allow for a complete picture for the best e-commerce shopping experience.
*Admins will be reviewing photos prior to approval. No obscene or vulgar photos will be allowed.
Variants
The Variants section is where you would add multiple options to your products. If you do not have a variant, leave this box unchecked and move to the next section.
If your product has variants, check the box. This will open the Option section to allow for variant creation.
If your product has multiple options, such as size and color, click add another option to this field.
Pricing
The Pricing section is where you will add your pricing. Craft Collective does not set vendor pricing. Cose of item is not needed in this section since the product is on consignment.
-
Charge tax on this variant MUST always be checked
- Unless the item is a cottage food item
- If the product is a sale item, the Price section will be the sale price and the Compare at Price is where the original non-sale price will be listed.
